You can follow below steps:
- You have to click on Computer icon under IIS (Internet Information Services).
- Now click on “Action” and then select “Backup/Restore Configuration” option.
- Here you have to click on “Create backup” and enter the name of backup file. After that, click on “OK”.
- NOTE: The default location of IIS configuration backup file is %SystemRoot%\system32\inetsrv\MetaBack folder. You can also save your backup file to another location and for that you can copy the file and move to another location. For the easy restoration you can keep copy in default location. By default you can file C:\Winnt is the %SystemRoot% folder in Windows 2000. Click on “Close” button.
- You can use this backup method only to restore yous IIS settings and not for your content. But if you have re-install your operating system then this backup method will not work.
